Ronald Davidson
Ronald Anstuther Davidson (July 13, 1899 – July 28, 1965) was an American screenwriter. He was born in Arizona, raised in Los Angeles, and died in San Diego, California. He was the son of Dr. Ansthuther and Alice Davidson. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa. Ronald Davidson started his career as a short story writer and in 1943 was appointed as story editor for Republic Studios movie serials and some feature films. He has also written some TV films and serials and has been associate producer for some film productions. He was a member of the Screen Writers Guild. Produced by Republic Pictures, the serial stars Edward Ciannelli, Robert Wilcox, William Newell, C. Montague Shaw, Ella Neal, and Dorothy Herbert. ''The Tiger Woman'' (1944) is a 12-chapter film serial by Republic Pictures starring Allan Lane and Linda Stirling (her serial debut). The serial was re-released in 1951 under the title ''Perils of the Darkest Jungle'' and, in 1966, it was edited into the 100-minute Century-66 film ''Jungle Gold''. Stirling was immediately popular in ''The Tiger Woman''. Due to her impact, ''Zorro's Black Whip'' was quickly put into production with her as the main star. ''Perils of Nyoka'' is a 1942 Republic serial directed by William Witney. It stars Kay Aldridge as Nyoka the Jungle Girl, a character who first appeared in the Edgar Rice Burroughs-inspired serial ''Jungle Girl''. Plot Nyoka, with help from Larry Grayson, attempts to discover the golden tablets of Hippocrates. The tablets contain the medical knowledge of the ancients and are being buried along with gold and other treasure. Also hunting for the tablets are Queen Vultura (Ruler of the Arabs) and Cassib.
