Tipsport Liga (hockey)
The Slovak Extraliga, known as the Tipsport liga since the 2025–26 Slovak Extraliga season, 2025–26 season for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level ice hockey league in Slovakia. From 2018–19 Slovak Extraliga season, 2018–19 to 2020–21, the league included one or two teams from Hungary. Teams from the Extraliga can participate in the International Ice Hockey Federation, IIHF's annual Champions Hockey League (CHL). Participation is based on the strength of the various leagues in Europe (excluding the KHL). Hokejový Klub Nitra is a professional ice hockey club based in Nitra, Slovakia. Tatra Cup
The Tatra Cup () is an annual ice hockey tournament held in Poprad, Slovakia. It is the second oldest club tournament in Europe, after the Spengler Cup. The first installment of the Tatra Cup took place in 1929 in Starý Smokovec. Between the years 1932 and 1935 there were two different tournaments held, a national one and an international one. There were only two installments held from 1952 to 1968 because of problems with organization of the tournament. In later years international teams started to participate as well, e.g. Kölner EC in 1969. One year later for the first time a Swedish team played at the Tatra Cup – Surahammars IF, together with German SC Riessersee. When a new ice hockey stadium was built in Poprad in 1973, conditions for the organization of the tournament improved considerably. Tampere Cup
Tampere Cup is an annual ice hockey tournament held in Tampere, Finland. It is hosted by two local teams, Tappara and Ilves. The most successful team is one of the hosts, Tappara with four titles. Metallurg Magnitogorsk has won the tournament three times and Djurgården Djurgården ( or ) or, more officially, , is an island in central Stockholm, Sweden. European Trophy Junior (previously named ''Nordic Trophy Junior'' between 2007 and 2009) was the junior edition of the European Trophy ice hockey tournament. European Trophy Junior was for ice hockey players younger than the age of 20. It was played in August every year. The tournament was cancelled after 2010. The Karjala Tournament (), also known as Karjala Cup, is an annual ice hockey event held in Finland. The name comes from the sponsoring beer brand Karjala. History The tournament started in 1992 as the Sauna Cup. In December 1995, the tournament was played as Christmas Cup at the same time as the Izvestija Trophy tournament, just before the Christmas holiday, causing Russia to send a reserve team to the Christmas Cup. In 1996, the tournament was moved to early November under the sponsorship of Karjala under the name Karjala Tournament. It became part of the annual Euro Hockey Tour (EHT), in which the national teams of Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden compete in a series of tournaments. Pitsiturnaus is an ice hockey tournament held in Rauma, Finland. It is held around the time of the Pitsiviikko. The tournament has been played since 1993. The tournament is held in the Kivikylän Areena, home arena of Lukko of the Liiga. History The participants of the tournament have traditionally been Rauma Lukko, Porin Ässät and TPS. Rauman Lukko has the most titles in the tournament, having won it ten times. The first foreign team in the tournament was the Russian CSK VVS Samara in 1999. The only foreign winner is from 2002, when the Russian HC CSKA Moscow won the tournament. The same team also took part in the tournament in 2003, when Lukko defeated them in the final.
