Ronald D. Young Jr. (born January 10, 1977) is an American former POW in the 2003 Gulf military action against Iraq who later became a contestant in the reality show ''The Amazing Race 7''. Young is also an Eagle Scout. Biography Young grew up in Lithia Springs, Georgia and lives in Villa Rica, Georgia. He graduated from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia, studied mechanical engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia, before joining the Army. At the time of his becoming a POW in Iraq his father was living in Lithia Springs, Georgia. Iraqi POW Young was among seven POWs who were taken prisoner by Iraqi forces in the 2003 invasion. Back then, he was a Chief Warrant Officer whose Apache Longbow helicopter crashed in Karbala on March 24, 2003. Ron Young (born August 20, 1946) is a Commissioner for Lake County, Ohio and is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives serving from 2011 to 2018 and again from 1997 to 2004. Career Young served in the United States Army for three years, and attended Kent State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Psychology. He taught before founding Technical Employment Services Inc. in 1981. He has been married since 1974 and has five daughters. Ohio House of Representatives Young first sought to replace Ray Sines in 1996, when he defeated Sines in the Republican primary by 150 votes. He also won the general election. He won reelection against Democrat Jeanette Crislip in 1998 with 54.14% of the vote. He won reelection with 52.1% of the vote in 2000, He won a final term in 2004 with 7,000 votes over Democrat Tim Cassell. Ronald Young (born July 22, 1970) is an American professional stock car racing driver who raced part-time in the NASCAR Nationwide Series from 1999 to 2008, mostly in his family team's No. 71 Chevrolet. He also competed in the NASCAR Southeast Series for a decade where he won six races and finished as high as third in points. Additionally, in 2007, Young drove in an ARCA Re/Max Series race at Nashville, his one and only start in that series. The only year that Young did not make any Busch Series starts was in 2004, which was because his hauler was stolen just before the start of the season. They had planned to run 15 races beginning at Rockingham, but ended up running none at all before returning in 2005. Ronald Young (born 31 August 1945) is an English former footballer who played as a winger. He made more than 200 appearances in the Football League playing for Hull City and Hartlepool. He also played non-League football for South Shields and Bishop Auckland. Life and career Young was born in 1945 in Dunston-on-Tyne, in what was then County Durham. He signed for Hull City in 1963, and made his first-team debut on 7 October 1964 in a 7–0 win at home to Barnsley in the Football League Third Division. He played in seven more league matches in October, scored his first goal in a 3–1 win at home to Luton Town, and was only on the losing side in the last of the eight. Hull City were promoted to the Second Division for 1965–66, and Young made a further 18 appearances and scored five goals at that level over the next two seasons.
