Ron Saunders (producer)
Ronald Victor Saunders is an Australian film and television producer, writer and director. He has worked in almost every genre of film and his career has spanned over 30 years. He is particularly known for specialising in children's television and for co-creating the successful Australian children's television series ''Johnson and Friends'', with Ian Munro (director) and John Patterson (writer) and later on, ''The Girl from Tomorrow'', '' Spellbinder'' and '' Magic Mountain''. Saunders was also instrumental in building race relations between Australia and China and he has been responsible for many co-productions between the two countries, including ''Magic Mountain'', '' Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord'' and '' The Dragon Pearl''. Johnson And Friends
''Johnson and Friends'' is an Australian live action/puppet children’s television program that originally aired on ABC from 3 September 1990 to 10 July 1997. It was produced by Film Australia and was created by Ron Saunders, John Patterson and Ian Munro. In the UK it was shown on TCC, CBBC, and then on UK Living's ''Tiny Living'' strand for under-fives. It was later aired in the United States with dubbed American voices as a part of The Fox Cubhouse, an educational children's anthology series on Fox Kids, between 1994 and early 1996. The series was last repeated on ABC1, with this run ending on 19 March 2002. The fourth series was produced in 1995 for Fox and was not aired in Australia until 1997. Chris Noonan
Chris Noonan (born 14 November 1952) is an Australian filmmaker and actor. He is best known for the family film '' Babe'' (1995), for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director and Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Biography Encouraged by his father, Noonan made his first short film, ''Could It Happen Here?'' set at North Sydney Boys High School when he was sixteen. It won a prize at the Sydney Film Festival and was later screened on Australian television. On leaving school in 1970 Noonan went to work for the Commonwealth Film Unit (now Film Australia), as a production assistant, assistant editor, production manager and assistant director making short films and documentaries. ''Escape from Jupiter'' is an Australian children's science fiction drama which aired from 26 November 1994 to 11 March 1995 on ABC. Concerning a small group of children on Jupiter's moon Io, the series ran for 13 episodes. When one of Io's volcanoes erupts, the surviving colonists must flee the moon and try to reach the safety of Earth. Film Australia was a company established by the Government of Australia to produce films about Australia in 1973. Its predecessors were the Cinema and Photographic Branch (1913–38), the Australian National Film Board (1939–1955, under different departments), and the Commonwealth Film Unit (1956–72).
