Ron M. Gant (born December, 1971) is an American insurance agent and politician from the state of Tennessee. A Republican Party (United States), Republican, Gant has represented the 94th district of the Tennessee House of Representatives, based in Fayette County, Tennessee, Fayette and McNairy County, Tennessee, McNairy Counties, since 2017. Career Gant was first elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 2016, after 94th district incumbent Leigh Wilburn resigned and interim appointee Jamie Jenkins declined to seek re-election. Gant easily won a three-way primary to fill the seat, and faced no significant general election opposition in the heavily Republican Party (United States), Republican district. Ronald Edwin Gant (born March 2, 1965) is an American television news anchor and former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) between 1987 and 2003 for eight different teams, primarily the Atlanta Braves (1987–1993), St. Louis Cardinals (1996–1998), and Philadelphia Phillies (1999–2000). He joined the 30–30 club—recording at least 30 stolen bases and 30 home runs in the same season—in 1990 and 1991, while with the Braves. He batted and threw right-handed. He is currently a co-host on WAGA-TV's morning news program ''Good Day Atlanta''.
