Ron Allen (skateboarder)
Ron Allen (born 1964) is a goofy-footed American skateboarder from Visalia, California. Allen, living and working in Oakland, California, is a well-known California street and vert skater who had parts in H-Street videos, Shackle Me Not and Hokus Pokus. Skateboarding career Allen is one of the nation’s first black professional skateboarders and one of the first to obtain a major corporate sponsorship. The first company to sponsor Allen was Gullwing Trucks. After placing third in an amateur contest in Santa Barbara, Vision Street Wear started to sponsor Allen. In 1989, Allen left Vision for the newly founded H-Street, alongside John Schultes, Colby Carter, Art Godoy, Tony Magnusson, Danny Way, Chris Livingston, Aaron Vincent, John Sonner, David Nelsen, Matt Hensley, Sal Barbier, and others. Sean Sheffey
William Sean Sheffey is a regular-footed American professional skateboarder. Early life Sheffey grew up in Maryland. Growing up, Sheffey was inspired by the skating of Mark Gonzales, Jesse Martinez, and Natas Kaupas. Skateboarding career Sheffey became sponsored by a local skate shop after only 8 months of skating. In the late 1980s, Sheffey attended a skateboarding contest in Ocean City, Maryland. At this contest, he met the skaters that made up SHUT skateboards. With-in months of meeting the team, Sheffey was sponsored by Shut Skates. After riding for SHUT, Sheffey skated briefly for Santa Monica Airlines. After SMA, Sheffey rode for Ron Allen's new company Life Skateboards. Ollie (skateboarding)
The ollie is a skateboarding trick where the rider and board leap into the air without the use of the rider's hands. It is the combination of stomping, also known as popping, the tail of the skateboard off the ground to get the board mostly vertical, jumping, and sliding the front foot forward to level out the skateboard at the peak of the jump. The ollie is a fundamental skill in skateboarding. Ollies are necessary to leap onto, over, or off of obstacles. As most flip tricks depend on it, the ollie is often the first skill to be learned by a new skateboarder and typically takes considerable practice to learn. Bamboo
Bamboos are a diverse group of evergreen perennial flowering plants making up the subfamily Bambusoideae of the grass family Poaceae. Giant bamboos are the largest members of the grass family. The Black Panther Party (BPP), originally the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, was a Marxist-Leninist and black power political organization founded by college students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in October 1966 in Oakland, California.
