Romina Pourmokhtari
Romina Pourmokhtari (born 12 November 1995) is a Swedish politician for the Liberals. She has served as the Minister for the Environment since 2022 in the Kristersson cabinet. She has also been a member of the Riksdag for Stockholm Municipality since 2022. She is the youngest-ever minister of a cabinet in Sweden, having ascended to her position at the age of 26. Political career Liberal Youth of Sweden (2019–2022) Pourmokhtari became the president of the Liberal Youth of Sweden in 2019. Minister For The Environment (Sweden)
The Minister for Climate and the Environment, (), formally cabinet minister of the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, is a member and minister of the Government of Sweden and is appointed by the Prime Minister. The minister is responsible for policies related to natural environment, climate and the overall responsibility for coordinating the work on sustainable development. The office was founded in 1985, and its first holder was Ingvar Carlsson. In 1987, the Ministry of the Environment was formed with Birgitta Dahl becoming the first ''head of the ministry''. In 2022, the Ministry of the Environment was merged into the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, which in turn changed its name to the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise. Kristersson Cabinet
The Kristersson cabinet () is the 57th government of Sweden and is formed by Ulf Kristersson, leader of the Moderate Party. It is a coalition government consisting of three parties: the Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats, and the Liberals. The cabinet works closely with the Sweden Democrats, in accordance with the Tidö Agreement backed by a majority in the Riksdag. Formation In the 2022 Swedish general election, the right-wing parliamentary faction consisting of the Sweden Democrats, Moderate Party, Christian Democrats, and Liberals won a slim majority of 176 out of 349 seats. Johan Pehrson
Carl Johan Georg Pehrson (born 8 May 1968) is a Swedish politician who has been leader of the Liberal Party since 8 April 2022, a Member of Parliament since 2018, representing Örebro County, and Minister for Education since September 2024. He also served as Minister for Employment and Integration before that as well as representing the same constituency as Member of Parliament from 1998 to 2015. On 28 April 2025 he announced his resignation as Liberal leader and Minister of Education. He will remain on both posts until 24 June 2025 when the next liberal party conference is due to be held. Extinction Rebellion (abbreviated as XR) is a UK-founded global environmental movement, with the stated aim of using nonviolent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of societal collapse, social and ecological collapse.
