Roman Silantiev
Roman Anatolyevich Silantyev (, 15 September 1977, Moscow) is a Russian sociologist Islamist, Islamic expert, former executive secretary of the Interreligious Council of Russia (IIRC), director of the human rights center of the World Russian People's Council, and former staff member of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations. In 2005 Silantyev was relieved from his IIRC posts after the controversial reception of his book ''A Modern History of the Islamic Community in Russia'', criticized both from the Muslim and Eastern Orthodox Church, Eastern Orthodox sides. In 2007 Silantyev published another book ''A Modern History of Islam in Russia''. In 2008 Silantyev published Islam in Russia Today'. In 2018 Silantyev presented "destructology", claimed to be a scientific discipline. The World Russian People's Council () is an international public organization and forum. It is displayed as "a place of meeting for people" who are "united under a shared objective – concern over the present and future of Russia". In Council sessions, participants include governmental representatives, leaders of public associations, clergy members of the major religions in Russia, science and culture figures, and delegates of "Russian communities from the near and far abroad." The World Russian People's Council was founded in 1993. Evgenia (Zhenya) Berkovich is a Russian theatre director, playwright, and poet. She is a member of Kirill Serebrennikov's ‘Seventh Studio’. On 5 May 2023, she was arrested alongside Svetlana Petriychuk on allegations of justifying terrorism. On 8 July 2024, the two were sentenced to six years in prison. Biography Family Berkovich is Jewish. Her paternal great-grandfather, Lev Maizelis, was accused of conspiracy and executed in 1938.
