Roman Ondák
Roman Ondak (born August 5, 1966) is a Slovak conceptual artist. Life and career Roman Ondak was born in Žilina. He studied at Academy of Fine Arts and Design ( Slovak: ''Vysoká škola výtvarných umení'', abbr. VŠVU) in Bratislava from 1988 to 1994. Roman Ondak has been awarded the 2018 winner of the Lovis Corinth Prize. Žilina
Žilina (; ; ; ; Names of European cities in different languages: U-Z#Z, names in other languages) is a city in north-western Slovakia, around from the capital Bratislava, close to both the Czech and Polish borders. Measuring The Universe
''Measuring the Universe'' is a performance art work by Slovaks, Slovak artist Roman Ondak first installed in the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich in 2007. The exhibition stars as a blank white wall and begins to fill when museum guards mark visitors' height along with their name and the current date. It is in the collection of Tate Modern in London, Pinakothek der Moderne, Pinakother der Moderne in Munich and Museum of Modern Art, MoMa in New York City, New York. Materials The only items required for the installation were a white room and a few black markers. What began as a clean white space has been filled with letters and lines and numbers as people pass through the gallery. Each tiny line represents a different person. The thousands and thousands of lines show just how many people pass through the museum each day, and how many people have been affected by this installation. Documenta 13 (stylised as dOCUMENTA (13)) was the thirteenth edition of the German contemporary art exhibition Documenta. It took place between 9 June until 16 September 2012 in Kassel, Germany. The exhibition was held under the theme "collapse and recovery". Exhibits could be seen in several venues in the city, among others in the Fridericianum museum, in the Orangerie (Kassel), Orangerie and in the Karlsaue, a large urban park. KADIST is an interdisciplinary contemporary arts organization with an international contemporary art collection. KADIST hosts artist residencies and produces exhibitions, publications, and public events. Founded by Vincent Worms and Sandra Terdjman, the first location was opened in Paris in 2006.
