Dieudonné Bogmis
Dieudonné Bogmis (12 January 1955 – 25 August 2018) was a Cameroonian Roman Catholic bishop. Born in Cameroon, Bogmis was ordained to the priesthood in 1983. He served as auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Douala, Cameroon and as titular bishop of ''Gadiaufala'' from 1999 to 2004. Roman Catholicism In Cameroon
The Catholic Church in Cameroon is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. There are almost ten million Catholics in the Republic of Cameroon, 38.4% of the population, in 24 Dioceses. A later survey put the figure at 7 million (26%) in 2023. Its cathedral episcopal see is the Cathédrale de l’Immaculée Conception, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception at Nkongsamba, in Moungo Department in the Littoral Region (Cameroon). Statistics As of 2014, it pastorally served 148,062 Catholics (42.4% of 349,270 total) on 4,057 km2 in 505 parishes, 3 missions with 80 priests (67 diocesan, 13 religious), 130 lay religious (41 brothers, 89 sisters) and 40 seminarians.
