Roll Out
''Roll Out'' is an American sitcom that aired Friday evenings on CBS during the 1973–1974 television season. Starring nightclub comedian Stu Gilliam and Hilly Hicks, and featuring Ed Begley Jr. and Garrett Morris, the series was set in France during World War II and was loosely based on the 1952 film ''Red Ball Express''. Actor Jimmy Lydon, familiar as a juvenile lead in the 1940s, was cast as an Army captain. His character's name was Henry Aldrich; the same name he used in Paramount's comedy features of the 1940s. Synopsis In an effort to cash in on the success of ''M*A*S*H,'' CBS decided to air another Army comedy. Instead of Army medics, ''Roll Out'' highlighted the pratfalls of the supply drivers of the fictional 5050th Quartermaster Truck Company of the U.S. Third Army's Red Ball Express, whose staff was mainly African American. The series attempted to use the World War II setting as a commentary on race relations, just as ''M*A*S*H''s Korean War setting was also a c ...

Back To Now
''Back to Now'' is the seventh studio album by American female vocal group Labelle, released on October 21, 2008 by Verve/Universal Records. Background Back to Now was produced by Wyclef Jean, Gamble and Huff and Lenny Kravitz. This marked the group's first album in over thirty years. In an interview with Pete Lewis of '' Blues & Soul'', Nona Hendryx revealed the album's title, "basically stem(s) from two of the songs on this album being songs I'd specifically written for what would have been the next Labelle album back in 1977. So the title 'Back To Now" is really signifying that this record represents us really getting back to where we were. It's basically a continuation from where we stopped off." Covers Labelle covered "The Truth Will Set You Free" by Mother's Finest and Cole Porter's, " Miss Otis Regrets" on the album. The album's Itunes edition also featured a rendition of Sylvester's " You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)". Critical reception Roshod D. Ollison of the ...

Rollout (backgammon)
A rollout is an analysis technique for backgammon positions and moves. A rollout consists of playing the same position many times (with different dice rolls) and recording the results. The balance of wins and losses is used to evaluate the equity of the position. Historically this was done by hand, but it is now undertaken primarily by computer programs. In order to compare two or more ways to move, rollouts can be performed from the positions after each move. Better choices will yield a more favorable position, and thus will win more times (and lose more rarely) in the end. Computer programs usually play rollouts where the number of games is a multiple of 36, and ensure that the first dice roll is uniformly distributed. That is, 1/36 of the played games will start with a roll of ''1-1'', another 36th will start with ''1-2'', and so on. A common length for a rollout is 36x36 = 1296, in which each possible combination is used for the first two rolls. This improves the accuracy of t ...

Rollout (poker)
Rollout or roll 'em out is poker jargon used for a game phase in certain poker variants. It is often incorrectly called " roll your own", to which it has similarities but from which it is fundamentally different. Poker games with a rollout phase resemble stud poker but have significantly different strategies, because players generally receive all of their cards up front (sometimes with a draw phase), and know the final value of their hand in early betting rounds. They resemble stud poker only in that cards are revealed to other players one at a time for each betting round. There are the same three variations on the idea as with roll your own, depending on when players are allowed to choose which card to reveal. They can either be forced to arrange the order of their cards before any betting begins ("choose before"), or they can also be allowed to choose cards in later rounds based on information found in earlier rounds ("choose after"). In the latter case, the revealing can be mad ...

Play From Scrimmage
A play from scrimmage is the sequence in the game of gridiron football during which one team tries to advance the ball, get a first down, or score, and the other team tries to stop them or take the ball away. Once a play is over, and before the next play starts, the football is considered dead. A game of American football (or Canadian Football) consists of many (about 120–150) such plays. Specifications The term is also used to denote a specific plan of action, or its execution, under a particular set of circumstances faced by either team.Shields, Patricia and Rangarajan, Nandhini. 2013''A Playbook for Research Methods: Integrating Conceptual Frameworks and Project Management''Stillwater, OK: New Forums Press, p. 1. For instance, the offensive team may be faced with one or two downs left in a possession and still ten or more yards to go to earn a new set of downs. In this instance, they may decide to employ a forward pass. Well in advance of the particular game, a numb ...

Rollout (drag Racing)
Rollout or rollout allowance is an adjustment in timed acceleration runs used by North-American drag racing and enthusiast magazines to create approximate parity over time between historic 0 to 60 mph and 1/4 mile acceleration times and those measured today using the Global Positioning System (GPS). Historically, light gates were used at the beginning and end of acceleration runs. These measured the end of runs accurately, but only began timing once a vehicle began to move (enough to trigger the light gate). Since this was the standard method, published acceleration times reflected a consistent "rolling start A rolling start is one of two modes of initiating or restarting an auto race; the other mode is the standing start. In a rolling start, the cars are ordered on the track and are led on a certain number of laps (parade or caution laps) at a prede ..." inaccuracy across races, records, road tests, and enthusiast magazine reviews. Rollout/Rollin
In operating systems, memory management is the function responsible for managing the computer's primary memory. The memory management function keeps track of the status of each memory location, either ''allocated'' or ''free''. It determines how memory is allocated among competing processes, deciding which gets memory, when they receive it, and how much they are allowed. When memory is allocated it determines which memory locations will be assigned. It tracks when memory is freed or ''unallocated'' and updates the status. This is distinct from Memory management, application memory management, which is how a process manages the memory assigned to it by the operating system. Memory management techniques Single contiguous allocation ''Single allocation'' is the simplest memory management technique. All the computer's memory, usually with the exception of a small portion reserved for the operating system, is available to a single application. MS-DOS is an example of a system that ...

Landing
Landing is the last part of a flight, where a flying animal, aircraft, or spacecraft returns to the ground. When the flying object returns to water, the process is called alighting, although it is commonly called "landing", "touchdown" or " splashdown" as well. A normal aircraft flight would include several parts of flight including taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing. Aircraft Aircraft usually land at an airport on a firm runway or helicopter landing pad, generally constructed of asphalt concrete, concrete, gravel or grass. Aircraft equipped with pontoons ( floatplane) or with a boat hull-shaped fuselage (a flying boat) are able to land on water. Aircraft also sometimes use skis to land on snow or ice. To land, the airspeed and the rate of descent are reduced such that the object descends at a low enough rate to allow for a gentle touch down. Landing is accomplished by slowing down and descending to the runway. This speed reduction is accomplished by r ...

Product Launch
New product development (NPD) or product development in business and engineering covers the complete process of launching a new product to the market. Product development also includes the renewal of an existing product and introducing a product into a new market. A central aspect of NPD is product design. New product development is the realization of a market opportunity by making a product available for purchase. The products developed by an commercial organisation provide the means to generate income. Many technology-intensive organisations exploit technological innovation in a rapidly changing consumer market. A product can be a tangible asset or intangible. A service or user experience is intangible. In law, sometimes services and other processes are distinguished from "products". NPD requires an understanding of customer needs and wants, the competitive environment, and the nature of the market. Cost, time, and quality are the main variables that drive customer needs. Ai ...
