Rolando Chaparro
Rolando Chaparro (born August 2, 1965 in Asunción) is a Paraguayan musician. Son of Rolando Chaparro (professional photographer) and Celia MarÃa BenÃtez ( actress) First steps He was very interested in music since an early age and at the age of 9 he made of the guitar his main instrument. He studied with Kuki Rey and initiated in the jazz studying by 4 years with Carlos Schvartzman. He formed later with Carlos Schvartzman, Remigio Pereira and Mario RodrÃguez an experimental musical quartet with jazzy tendencies. Career In 1984 he grouped with Berta Rojas and Carlos Noguera. in 1985 he joined to “SÃntesis†(Synthesis), a jazz-fusion and folkloric projection group, performing in many places of Asunción. Asunción
Asunción (, , , Guarani: Paraguay) is the capital and the largest city of Paraguay. The Latin America Memorial (in Portuguese, ''Memorial da América Latina'') is a cultural, political and leisure complex, inaugurated in 1989, in São Paulo, Brazil. Juan Cancio Barreto
Juan Cancio Barreto is a Paraguayan musician. Beginnings Barreto was born in Asunción, Paraguay on March 27, 1950. Son of Carmen Emategui and Rodolfo Barreto. He began to play the guitar at age 7, when a friend of his father, called Dario Duarte, also a musician, gave him a small guitar (requinto). His father showed him the basics and later a neighbour, Eufrasio Riveros, taught him to play. since then he never stopped playing that beautiful instrument. At the age of 11, he met Efrén EcheverrÃa, who became his teacher and inspired him to love and appreciate the folklore of Paraguay and particularly its music. Efrén EcheverrÃa
Efren Echeverria (4 March 1932 – 19 June 2018) was a Paraguayan musician guitarist, composer, and compiler. Childhood and Youth When Efren was nine years old, a neighbor, Eusebio Cantero, taught him the first chords on guitar. With him, he learned the authentic pieces of folk repertoire of anonymous authors. Thus, from an early age, Paraguayan music became familiar to him; therefore to own a guitar became a passionate desire of his childhood. And not a long time passed until the desired instrument came to his life. Already in his teens, Echeverria became part of the act placed in any "Musiqueada" (musical parties) that was done in his homeland. Soon Efren takes over the serenades of the place, always pushing the guitar and sometimes up the violin or accordion with buttons.
