Roland Ramoser
Roland Ramoser (born September 3, 1972) is retired Italian ice hockey player who participated at the 2010 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Italy men's national ice hockey team. Over the course of his career he participated in 17 IIHF World Championship tournaments, 13 in the top division. At the time of his retirement in 2011, Ramoser had participated in the second most World Championships, behind Tommy Jakobsen of Norway. At the age of 18 he went to Canada and played for the Hull Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners.
