Rojé Stona
Rojé Stona (born 26 February 1999) is a Jamaican track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. He broke the Olympic record to win the gold medal at the Athletics at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Men's discus throw, 2024 Summer Olympics, thus becoming the first Jamaican to be Olympic Champion at a throwing event. Early life He started his secondary school throwing career at Rusea's High School in Hanover, where he won the Class Two boys discus at the Western Championships in 2014. He then attended St. Jago High School in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He also attended Clemson University, where in 2022 hearned his bachelor’s degreein industrial engineering, and the University of Arkansas. 2023 World Athletics Championships – Men's Discus Throw
The men's discus throw at the 2023 World Athletics Championships was held at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest on 19 and 21 August 2023. Summary Nobody in the field was able to make the 66.50m automatic qualifier. In the first round of the final, Andrius Gudžius was the first over 65 with a 65.95m. The next thrower was the defending champion Kristjan Čeh. His 68.31m opened up a big lead. Near the end of the round, Matthew Denny moved into second with a 66.39m. In the second round, Gudžius improved to 66.16m, the Čeh made a big improvement in his lead to 69.27m. Daniel Ståhl stepped into second with at 66.58m, then Mykolas Alekna took it from him with 67.08m. The 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships was the 59th NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships and the 42nd NCAA Division I Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts. The field consisted of 17 different men's and women's indoor track and field events with a total of 650 participants contested from March 8 to March 9, 2024.
