Rohu, Estonia
Rohu is a village in Vinni Parish, Lääne-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. It's located about 5 km northwest of Laekvere and about 7 km northeast of Simuna. It has a population of 55 (as of 3 January 2011). Counties ( et, maakond, plural ') are the first-level administrative subdivisions of Estonia. Estonian territory is composed of 15 counties, including 13 on the mainland and 2 on islands. The government (') of each county is led by a ' (governor) who represents the national government (') at the regional level. Lääne-Viru County ( et, Lääne-Viru maakond or ''Lääne-Virumaa'') is one of 15 counties of Estonia. It is in northern Estonia, on the south coast of the Gulf of Finland. A municipality ( et, omavalitsus, plural ) is the smallest administrative subdivision of Estonia. Each municipality is a unit of self-government with its representative and executive bodies. The municipalities in Estonia cover the entire territory of the country. Simuna, Estonia
Simuna is a small borough in Väike-Maarja Parish, Lääne-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. It had a population of 454 as of 2011. Before 2005 Simuna was the centre of Avanduse Parish which was merged to Väike-Maarja Parish. One of the points of the Struve Geodetic Arc is located in Simuna. Avanduse manor The manor of Avanduse (german: Awandus) is located in Simuna. It was first mentioned in written records in 1494. The present-day manor building was erected in 1679–1684 by master builder Gerd Vorberg from Reval (Tallinn) who had been commissionned by the owner of the Avanduse estate at the time, Gideon von Fock. The building has been significantly rebuilt since then; most recent changes were made by architect Rudolf von Engelhardt in 1890. Admiral and geographer Friedrich von Lütke (1797–1882) was one of the most famous owners of the estate, and a plaque dedicated to him stands on the manor building's wall. Kaido Höövelson, (known professionally as Baruto Kaito ; born 5 November 1984) is an Estonian politician and former professional sumo wrestler. Making his debut in May 2004, he reached the top division after just two years in sumo in May 2006. After suffering a number of injury problems in 2007 which delayed his progress, he reached the third-highest rank of ''sekiwake'' in November 2008, and was promoted to '' ōzeki'' rank after finishing the March 2010 tournament with a score of 14–1. He was a tournament runner-up four times before recording a top division championship in the 2012 January tournament. During his career Baruto also earned five special prizes for Fighting Spirit, one for Outstanding Performance and one for Technique. He lost his ''ōzeki'' rank after more injury problems at the end of 2012, and having fallen greatly in rank after withdrawing from the May 2013 tournament, he announced his retirement in September of that year at the age of 28.
