Erich Rohde GmbH is a German shoe manufacturer headquartered in Schwalmstadt (Hesse). It is the licence holder of the French lifestyle brand Daniel Hechter and its primary field of business is the European shoe market. Background With the foundation of a tannery in the German town of Guben (Brandenburg) in 1862, the company's history begins. Throughout the years, a shoe factory emerged from this tannery, which company founder Erich Rohde overtook in 1926 and finally turned into a production plant. Schwalmstadt
Schwalmstadt () is the largest town in the Schwalm-Eder district, in northern Hesse, Germany. It was established only in 1970 with the amalgamation of the towns of Treysa and Ziegenhain together with some outlying villages to form the town of Schwalmstadt. Geography Location Schwalmstadt lies in the Schwalm region in the western Knüll, a low mountain range. Through the town flows the river Schwalm. Daniel Hechter
Daniel Hechter (born 30 July 1938) is a French-Belgian fashion designer who is sometimes referred to as the inventor of ready-to-wear (prêt-à-porter). He is also known for being the president of Paris Saint-Germain F.C. from 1974 to 1978, having designed the club's famous home shirt. Personal life Daniel Hechter was born in Paris, France, in a family who owned a ready-to-wear company. As such, Hechter was brought up in an environment sympathetic to fashion. At the age of four, he was forced to flee from Paris with his mother and did not see his father, a prisoner of war, until he was seven. He married Marika Hechter; they have a daughter, Hechter then married Jennifer Chambon in 1980. He served in the French Army from 1958 to 1960. Borken, Hesse
Borken () is a small town with about 13,000 inhabitants in the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, Germany. The town is a former centre for brown coal mining and Fossil fuel power plant, coal-fired electrical generation in Hesse. The coalmine, unlike those in other regions, also had underground workings. After a major disaster – namely a coal dust explosion – the mine was shut down on 1 June 1988.
