Rogério Simonetti Marinho
Rogério Simonetti Marinho (born 26 November 1963) is a Brazilian economist and politician, member of the Liberal Party (PL). He's currently a senator representing Rio Grande do Norte since 2023. He was a Federal Deputy until 1 February 2019, representing the state of Rio Grande do Norte, and was the President of Honor of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB) in his state. Federal Senate (Brazil)
The Federal Senate ( pt, Senado Federal) is the upper house of the National Congress of Brazil. When created under the Imperial Constitution in 1824, it was based on the House of Lords of the British Parliament, but since the Proclamation of the Republic in 1889 and under the first republican Constitution the Federal Senate has resembled the United States Senate. The current president of the Federal Senate is Rodrigo Pacheco, a member of the Social Democratic Party from Minas Gerais. He was elected in February, 2021 for a two-year term. From its foundation in 2006 until 2019, it was called the Party of the Republic ( pt, Partido da República, PR).
