Roger A. Nutt is an American people, American engineer and politician. He is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, South Carolina Senate from the 12th District, serving since 2024. He is a member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party. Political career 2024 South Carolina Senate race In 2023, Nutt announced his run for the State Senate seat held by retiring incumbent Scott Talley. Nutt, businessman Skip Davenport, former Spartanburg County, South Carolina, Spartanburg County Clerk of Court Hope Blackley, and former State Senator Lee Bright faced each other in the Republican primary. Nutt bested Bright in the Republican primary runoff, and became the Republican nominee. He won the State Senate seat over physician and Democratic nominee Octavia Amaechi in the general election. Scott Talley
Scott F. Talley (born June 25, 1976) is an American politician. He is a former member of the South Carolina Senate from the 12th District (Spartanburg County, South Carolina, Spartanburg), serving from 2016 to 2024. Previously, he served the 34th House District in the South Carolina House of Representatives. He is a member of the South Carolina Republican Party, Republican party. S.C. House of Representatives (2000–2008) S.C. Senate Talley was first elected to represent South Carolina's 12th Senate District, covering parts of Spartanburg County, in 2016. Previously, he challenged his predecessor, Lee Bright, in 2008. However, it would take a second primary challenge in 2016 for Talley to successfully unseat the incumbent.
