Roger Jardine
William Rodger “Roger” Jardine (born 13 September 1965) is a South African business executive, former government official and leader of the political party Change Starts Now. At age 29, Jardine became the Director General of South Africa's Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology, surpassing the previous record held by Niel Barnard. He contributed to policy work on nuclear disarmament in South Africa. and the first White paper on science and technology in 1996, which contributed to the later establishment of new research facilities and infrastructure such as the Southern African Large Telescope, Technology Innovation Agency and South African National Space Agency. Jardine formerly served as the Chairperson of FirstRand, a financial institution, and formerly also Chair of the Centre for Development and Enterprise, a South African think tank. Willem Petrus "Willie" Esterhuyse, OLS (born 19 August 1936) is an emeritus professor of philosophy and business ethics at the University of Stellenbosch, a columnist and critic of the system of apartheid. Early life Willem Petrus Esterhuyse was born in 1936 in Laingsburg, Cape Province, Union of South Africa (now Western Cape). Murphy Morobe
Murphy Morobe (born 2 October 1956) is a historical figure from South Africa's anti-apartheid movement. He started school in Ermelo. Morobe completed Primary School in Soweto and then went to Orlando North Secondary School and Morris Isaacson High School. While he was in high school he became interested in politics and history. In 1972 Morobe became part of the South African Student’s Movement (SASM). Important things to him were unity and community development. Many members of the SASM were detained in 1973 and it became quite weak. In 1974 Morobe helped with the re-building of SASM, and then was made treasurer by them. Kagiso Media is the largest black-owned media corporation in South Africa. It was formed in 1997 by Kagiso Trust Investments. History Kagiso Media was listed on the JSE in 1997. In 1999, Kagiso acquired a 42.5% investment in radio station Jacaranda 94.2. It had a 91% stake in East Coast Radio and 24% stake in OFM that year and a stake in Caxton publishing. By 2000 it owned Radmark, a radio advertising company, Butterworths, a publishing business, and exhibition businesses, Saitex, Auto Africa and the Rand Show.
