Roger A. McGuire
Roger Alan McGuire (July 1, 1943 – January 24, 2005) was the United States Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, United States Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Guinea-Bissau from October 14, 1992 to August 28, 1995. He was appointed to the Ambassador#Ambassador_extraordinary_and_plenipotentiary, post by President George H. W. Bush on June 15, 1992. Early life McGuire was born in Troy, Ohio and graduated from Beloit College in 1965. While at Beloit he studied in Switzerland and England and was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. He then earned his Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin 1967. Career McGuire joined the United States Department of State, State Department's United States Foreign Service, Foreign Service in 1967. The United States ambassador to Guinea-Bissau is the official representative of the president of the United States to the head of state of Guinea-Bissau. Superior Honor Award
The Superior Honor Award is an award of the United States Department of State. Similar versions of the same award exist for the former U.S. Information Agency, Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, and USAID. It is presented to groups or individuals in recognition of a special act or service or sustained extraordinary performance covering a period of one year or longer. The United States ambassador to Namibia is the representative of the government of the United States in Namibia. The position was created the day Namibia became independent, March 21, 1990, which was also the day that Namibia-United States relations were established. On that same day, the U.S. Embassy in Windhoek was opened in recognition of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The U.S. Liaison Office in Windhoek opened February 24, 1984, with William H.
