Rod Waddell
Rod Waddell (born 23 May 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton and Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Waddell played suburban football for the Lalor Football Club in the Diamond Valley Football League. In 1981, he was recruited to the Victorian Football League, and he was initially zoned to , where he played some reserves football. However, this was an error: Lalor was one of only two DVFL clubs which was not part of Collingwood's zone, and Waddell should actually have been zoned to . Because the Collingwood reserves team had fielded him without the proper clearance, it was stripped of four premiership points that it had earned with him in the team in 1981. After the error was cleared up, Waddell moved to Carlton. Renowned for his quick pace, Waddell played three senior games in late 1981, and two in 1982 before being cleared to Geelong mid-season. Steven Motlop (born 12 March 1991) is a former professional Australian rules footballer for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), having previously played for the Geelong Football Club from 2009 to 2017. Early life Motlop was selected by Geelong with the 39th pick in the 2008 AFL Draft. Had previously been playing with the Wanderers in the Northern Territory. He is the younger brother of North Melbourne premiership player Shannon Motlop and former North Melbourne and Port Adelaide forward Daniel Motlop, and the cousin of Port's Marlon Motlop. Shannon Motlop (born 18 August 1978) is an indigenous Larrakia Australian rules footballer. Primarily playing as a midfielder or small forward, he represented both the Kangaroos and Melbourne in the Australian Football League. He currently plays for the Robinvale Football Club in Robinvale. Early career Shannon started his playing career with the Northern Territory Football League's Wanderers, a club with which the Motlop family have many associations. As a teenager, he moved to the North Adelaide Roosters in the South Australian National Football League as a teenager, from where he was selected by North Melbourne as the 85th pick in the 1998 National Draft. Northern Football Netball League
The Northern Football Netball League (formerly known as the Diamond Valley Football League and later Northern Football League) is an Australian sports league based in the Diamond Valley region of suburban Melbourne, Victoria. The league regulates competitions of both sports, Australian rules football and netball in the region.
