Rod Barton (weapons Inspector)
Rod Barton is an Australian politician. He is the co-founder of the Transport Matters Party and was a member of the Victorian Legislative Council, representing the Eastern Metropolitan Region. He was elected in November 2018, but was not re-elected at the 2022 election. Barton established the Transport Matters Party in response to the deregulation of the taxi and hire car industry in 2017. Before entering politics, Barton worked for 30 years in the taxi and hire-car industry. Barton lives in Melbourne with his wife. He has two daughters and five grandchildren. Early life and career Barton was born in 1958 in Footscray, Victoria. His parents arrived in Australia in 1951 via ship. The Victorian Legislative Council is the upper house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria, Australia, the lower house being the Victorian Legislative Assembly, Legislative Assembly. Both houses sit at Parliament House, Melbourne, Parliament House in Spring Street, Melbourne. Andy Meddick
Andy Meddick (born 5 April 1964) is a former Australian politician. He was an Animal Justice Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council from 2018 to 2022, representing Western Victoria Region, and was the first politician elected in Victoria on an animal protection platform. Career Meddick previously worked in construction and was motivated to start his political career when he heard the screams of animals while he worked next to a Laverton pig slaughterhouse in 2013. Meddick began handing out how-to-vote cards for the Animal Justice Party before the 2013 federal election and formed the regional group of the AJP.
