Rod Abernethy
Rod Abernethy is a performing songwriter, guitarist, and composer. His music has been used as scores for EA, Midway, Vivendi, Universal, Sony, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Paramount, Disney, THQ, Activision, Konami, Majesco Entertainment, NC Soft, Namco and Nintendo. Abernethy first appeared on the public landscape with a 1975 LP ''Solo'', produced by Don Dixon from the North Carolina band Arrogance. He later joined Arrogance as lead guitarist, staying with the band through their releases ''Suddenly'' (Warner Brothers,1980) and ''Lively'' (1981). He eventually left Arrogance before the recording of the unreleased, at the time, ''The 5'11" Record'' (1982) to pursue a solo music career composing for films, TV, and video games. Arrogance (band)
Arrogance is a rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In the 1970s and early 1980s, they were considered one of the most popular local bands in the state. All Music Guide stated that Arrogance was “one of the architects of the alternative trend of the 1980s”. Arrogance made a run of appearances at Raleigh's Village Subway, and were the first group to play some chords at the Pier back in 1973. The group has released six full length albums in its history and an early non-LP single. In 1983, the group entered a dormant period, and the members did not perform together again until 2000, when the band reunited for a few select concerts and gigs in the Triangle area in celebration of Arrogance's 30th anniversary. The most notable was the "Reunion" concert at the North Carolina Museum of Art Amphitheatre in Raleigh in 2000. ''Rage'' is a first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, released in October 2011 for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360, and in February 2012 for OS X. Area 51
Area 51 is the common name of a highly classified United States Air Force (USAF) facility within the Nevada Test and Training Range in southern Nevada, north-northwest of Las Vegas. A remote detachment administered by Edwards Air Force Base, the facility is officially called Homey Airport or Groom Lake (after the salt flat next to its airfield). Details of its operations are not made public, but the USAF says that it is an open training range, and it is commonly thought to support the development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons. The USAF and CIA acquired the site in 1955, primarily for flight tests of the Lockheed U-2 aircraft.
