Rockbitch
Rockbitch were a British Rock music, rock band, composed mostly of female, lesbian and bisexual members, who performed nudity, nude and incorporated Human sexual activity, sexual acts and Paganism, Pagan rituals into their performances. History Rockbitch was originally formed in 1984 as Cat Genetica by bassist Amanda Smith-Skinner ("the Bitch") and guitarist Tony Skinner ("the Beast"). The band was later renamed Red Abyss, in 1989, and drew band members from the matriarchal, Polyamory, polyamorous, pagan, feminist community of which Smith-Skinner was a member. Rockbitch became infamous not only for performing live sex acts but also doing so with audience members via "The Golden Condom". During their shows, a condom was tossed into the crowd; whoever caught it (male or female) was taken backstage for sexual acts with band members. Syren (band)
Syren were an alternative rock trio formed in the United States by singer-songwriter Erin Bennett and ex-Rockbitch rhythm section Amanda Smith-Skinner (bass) and Jo Heeley (drums). The band's debut album, ''Dehumanized'', was followed by successful US, UK and European tours and gained much praise in the music press. A second, unreleased, album, ''Something Has To Separate'', was shelved due to Heeley's death in 2012 and the subsequent retirement of Smith-Skinner soon after. Bennett reformed the band with an all-new line-up for a handful of one-off shows supporting space rock band Hawkwind and performed a final 'farewell' show as Syren on January 16, 2014. She continues to create music as Erin Bennett & the EB band, and was awarded a Scottish New Music award in 2012. Sexual Freedom Awards
The Sexual Freedom Awards is an annual British event that honours achievement in the sexuality and erotica industries worldwide. Founded in 1994 by campaigner Tuppy Owens, the awards were first called the "Erotic Oscars", until the name had to be changed for legal reasons. They were called the "Erotic Awards" from 2002 until 2013 when they become what is now known as the Sexual Freedom Awards. The awards ceremony is an annual event in London with a semi-finals event and the finals held at the "Sex Maniacs Ball", but now is a fully fledged award night in its own right.
