Roc City Hoops Classic
Formerly known as the Lightower Conference Classic, the Roc City Hoops Classic is an annual collegiate men's basketball event. The event formerly featured a game played between two Atlantic 10 Conference NCAA Division-I member schools at Blue Cross Arena. The event, started by St. Bonaventure University, brings NCAA Division-I basketball to Rochester, New York, the largest city in the United States of America without a full NCAA Division-I member school (however the RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) Tigers have a men's and women's ice hockey program in Division I (Atlantic Hockey) in Henrietta, New York, along with the SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles in women's gymnastics and the Hobart College Statesmen in men's lacrosse Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. Atlantic 10 Conference
The Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I. The A-10's member schools are located in states mostly on the United States Eastern Seaboard, as well as some in the Midwest: Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri as well as in the District of Columbia. Although some of its members are state-funded, half of its membership is made up of private, Catholic institutions. Despite the name, there are 15 full-time members, and four affiliate members that participate in women's field hockey and men's lacrosse. The current commissioner is Bernadette McGlade, who began her tenure in 2008. Northeast Conference
The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). 2014–15 George Mason Patriots Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 George Mason Patriots men's basketball team represented George Mason University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the 49th season for the program. The Patriots, led by fourth year head coach Paul Hewitt, competed in their second season in the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 9–22, 4–14 in A-10 play to finish in a tie for twelfth place. They lost in first round of the A-10 tournament to Fordham. On March 16, head coach Paul Hewitt was fired. 2012–13 Niagara Purple Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2012–13 Niagara Purple Eagles men's basketball team represented Niagara University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Purple Eagles, led by 14th year head coach Joe Mihalich, played their home games at the Gallagher Center and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 13–5 in MAAC play win the regular season conference championship. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAAC tournament where they lost to Iona. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the 2013 NIT where they lost in the first round to Maryland. The 2011–12 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represented NC State University in the 2011–12 men's college basketball season. The 2010–11 Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball team represented Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. 2003–04 Syracuse Orangemen Basketball Team
The 2003–04 Syracuse Orangemen men's basketball team represented Syracuse University in NCAA men's basketball competition in the 2003–04 Division I season. The head coach was Jim Boeheim, serving for his 28th year. The team played its home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. The team finished with a 23–8 (11–5) record, while making it to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. The team was led by junior Hakim Warrick and sophomore Gerry McNamara.
