Julio Roberto Valverde Valencia (born 1955), better known by his stage name Robo, is a Colombian-American drummer. He came to prominence in the early 1980s with punk band Black Flag, and more recently has been a member of Misfits. Life and career Robo (at the time known by his birth name, Roberto Valverde), born in Cali, who came to the United States on a student visa in early 1975. He stayed after the visa expired. Robo began playing drums in 1976, while living in El Segundo, California and working in a plastics factory. In 1978, he joined Black Flag as the band's second drummer, replacing Brian Migdol. He toured and recorded with them through 1981, performing on the EPs '' Jealous Again'' and '' Six Pack'', and their first full-length album, '' Damaged''. Paul Caiafa (born September 15, 1964), known professionally as Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, is an American guitarist best known for his material with the horror punk band the Misfits and his own band eponymously named Doyle. Education Raised in Lodi, New Jersey, he started attending Lodi High School two years following his brother Jerry's graduation. He played on the school's football team for all four years and graduated in 1982. Hi-hat (instrument)
A hi-hat (hihat, high-hat, etc.) is a combination of two cymbals and a pedal, all mounted on a metal stand. It is a part of the standard drum kit used by drummers in many styles of music including rock, pop, jazz, and blues. Hi-hats consist of a matching pair of small to medium-sized cymbals mounted on a stand, with the two cymbals facing each other. The bottom cymbal is fixed and the top is mounted on a rod which moves the top cymbal toward the bottom one when the pedal is depressed (a hi-hat that is in this position is said to be "closed" or "closed hi-hats"). The hi-hat evolved from a "sock cymbal", a pair of similar cymbals mounted at ground level on a hinged, spring-loaded foot apparatus. Drummers invented the first sock cymbals to enable one drummer to play multiple percussion instruments at the same time. Folkestone
Folkestone ( ) is a coastal town on the English Channel, in Kent, south-east England. The town lies on the southern edge of the North Downs at a valley between two cliffs. Hevy Music Festival
Hevy Music Festival was a rock festival established by Claire Baker and James that took place annually near Folkestone, Kent, in the UK. It was originally held on 1 August 2009 on Folkestone seafront as a one-day festival with Feeder, Gary Numan and Ash as headliners, with an unusual organisation between the two stages in which when one finished on the main stage, the band on the second stage would immediately begin their set. This stage looked like a burger van. In 2010 it moved to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and grew to a weekend camping festival held from 6–8 August. The headline artists included Glassjaw, Gallows, Sepultura and the Subways, and the festival provided a variety of rock music genres including punk rock, alternative rock, hardcore punk and heavy metal along with extreme sports displays and state-of-the-art thrill rides. Thomas Alan Waits (born December 7, 1949) is an American musician, composer, songwriter, and actor. His lyrics often focus on society's underworld and are delivered in his trademark deep, gravelly voice. The film consists primarily of a conversation between musicians Tom Waits and Iggy Pop in a coffee shop. "Land of the Dead" is a single by the horror punk band the Misfits, released October 27, 2009 through Misfits Records. It is the first release of new studio material from the band since the 2003 covers album ''Project 1950'', and their first release of new, original material since 1999's ''Famous Monsters''. It is also the only release by the band's 2005–2010 lineup of Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Robo. The single's cover artwork, by ''Marvel Zombies'' artist Arthur Suydam, is based on the band's "Crimson Ghost" skull logo. Black Flag (band), Black Flag is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California by Greg Ginn, the band's guitarist, primary songwriter, and sole constant member. Gregory Regis Ginn ( , born June 8, 1954) is an American musician and songwriter, best known for being the leader, primary songwriter, and the only continuous member of the hardcore punk band Black Flag, which he founded and led from 1976 to 1986, and again in 2003. The band announced another reunion in 2013. Since the breakup of Black Flag, Ginn has recorded solo albums, and performed with such bands as October Faction, Gone, Confront James, Mojack, and others. He was 99th on ''Rolling Stone''s list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Early life Ginn was born June 8, 1954, in Tucson, Arizona.
