Robin Gill (journalist)
Robin Gill (born May 12, 1978) is a Canadian journalist who was the weekend anchor for ''Global National'' and B.C. correspondent from 2008 to 2021. She has also worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in International Relations and from BCIT she earned a diploma in broadcast journalism. Gill began her career as a writer and researcher for CHAN-TV. Her next position required her to move to Saskatchewan for a job reporting and anchoring for CTV Yorkton. From Saskatchewan she then began reporting for the CBC in Vancouver. She helped launch A-Channel, a new station in Calgary (now Citytv), where she hosted both the morning show and reported for the evening news. She then moved to Toronto in the summer of 2000, to report for Global News in Toronto (CIII-TV) before becoming the weekend anchor. Global National
''Global National'' is the English language flagship national newscast of Canada's Global Television Network. Editorial and production staff are based out of Global's national news centre at CHAN-DT, Global BC in Burnaby, British Columbia, with Dawna Friesen presenting from the Global BC studios Mondays to Thursdays, and Farah Nasser presenting from the CIII-DT, Global Toronto studios Fridays to Sundays. From 2008 to 2010, the program was the only Canadian network newscast to be regularly anchored from the nation's capital, Ottawa. CIII-DT (channel 41) is a television station in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, serving as the flagship station of the Global Television Network. Owned and operated by network parent Corus Entertainment, CIII-DT maintains studios at 81 Barber Greene Road (near Leslie Street) in the Don Mills district of Toronto, and its transmitter is located atop the CN Tower in downtown Toronto. Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama (, ; ) is the head of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. The term is part of the full title "Holiness Knowing Everything Vajradhara Dalai Lama" (圣 识一切 瓦齐尔达喇 达赖 喇嘛) given by Altan Khan, the first Shunyi King of Ming dynasty, Ming China. He offered it in appreciation to the Gelug school's then-leader, Sonam Gyatso, who received it in 1578 at Yanghua Monastery. At that time, Sonam Gyatso had just given teachings to the Khan, and so the title of Dalai Lama was also given to the entire tulku lineage.
