Robin Femy
Robin Femy (born 19 October 1989) is a skier and sighted guide from Canada. He currently serves as Mac Marcoux's guide. The pair won three medals in alpine skiing at the 2014 Winter Paralympics, including gold in the men's visually impaired giant slalom. Alpine Skiing
Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings. Whether for recreation or for sport, it is typically practiced at ski resorts, which provide such services as ski lifts, artificial snow making, snow grooming, restaurants, and ski patrol. Chris Williamson (alpine Skier)
Chris Williamson (born May 5, 1972) is a Canadian alpine skier and Paralympic Champion. His fatherPeter was a speed skater for Canada in the 1968 Winter Olympics and subsequently coached stars such as Mike Ireland and Clara Hughes. Williamson competed in the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada. He became 4th in the Giant Slalom, 6th in the Slalom, 4th in the Super combined, visually impaired, and 6th in the Super-G, visually impaired. His sighted guide at Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 was Nick Brush. 2011 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships
The 2011 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships was held in Sestriere, Italy, from January 14 to 23, 2011. IPC stands for International Paralympic Committee. Skiers competed in sitting, standing or visually impaired classification categories in Downhill, Giant Slalom, Slalom, Super-G, Super Combined and Team events. Over 130 skiers competed, including German multiple-Paralympic medalist Gerd Schönfelder, who competed in classification-category standing events.
