Roberval Andrade
Roberval Andrade (born 6 December 1970) is a Brazilian racing driver. He is currently competing in the Copa Truck. He was the driver's champion in Fórmula Truck, in 2002 and 2010, and Copa Truck in 2018. Career Andrade won the Fórmula Truck championship in 2002 and again in 2010. The Copa Truck is a Brazilian auto racing series, composed of trucks prepared for race. The category replaced the Fórmula Truck series in 2017. History The origin of the category came after nine teams left Formula Truck because of disagreements with the troubled management of Neusa Navarro Félix. Fórmula Truck
Fórmula Truck is a Brazilian Truck racing series promoted by GT Truck. It originally ran from 1996 until 2017, when it folded due to various disagreements, and was reorganized into the Copa Truck. The series returned in 2021 as a separate championship being promoted by GT Truck. History Early history The idea for the racing series came from discussions between Aurélio Batista Félix, a truck driver from Santos, and Portuguese journalist Francisco Santos. The first race took place on 6 September 1987 at the Autodromo Internacional de Cascavel circuit in Paraná. It involved 35 competitors and was named ''I Copa Brasil de Caminhões'' ("First Brazilian Trucks' Cup"). It served as a safety test for what was a brand new racing format. 2010 Fórmula Truck Season
The 2010 Fórmula Truck season was the 15th Fórmula Truck season. It began on March 7 at Guaporé and ended on December 5 at Brasília after ten rounds. After a closely fought championship, it was the Scania of Roberval Andrade, driving for the RVR Corinthians Motorsport that won his second Fórmula Truck title after a season-long battle with the RM Competições Volkswagen of defending champion Felipe Giaffone. Andrade and Giaffone finished tied on 176 points but with five wins compared to Giaffone's one, Andrade claimed his first title since 2002. Third place went to the best Mercedes-Benz driver, four-time champion Wellington Cirino, who finished 34 points behind the top two taking a single victory at Campo Grande.
