Roberto Zerquera Blanco (born 7 June 1937 in Tunis) is a German schlager singer, actor, and entertainer of Afro-Cuban origin. He is one of the most successful entertainers of all time in German-speaking countries. Early life Blanco is the son of Cuban folklorist and artist Alfonso Zerquera and his wife Mercedes Blanco. He grew up in Beirut and Madrid. When Roberto was two, his mother died. After finishing school he began to study medicine in Madrid, but quit after two semesters. Career In 1957, Blanco played a role in the movie '' Der Stern von Afrika'' (The Star of Africa). Herbert Anton Hilger (born Bloeth; 3 February 1938 – 16 February 2023), known professionally as Tony Marshall, was a German schlager and opera singer. Famous since 1971 with his hit song "Schöne Maid", he also played in some comedies and was often seen on television. Early life and education Born in Baden-Baden, Marshall trained as an opera singer in Karlsruhe, graduating in 1965. Career Rather than embarking on a career in opera, in 1971, Marshall had his first hit single with "Schöne Maid". A year later, an English-language version was also released, titled "Pretty Maid". "Pretty Maid" peaked at number 16 in Australia in 1971. The Disco Boys are a German house music DJ and production duo from Hamburg, which consists of Raphael Krickow and Gordon Hollenga. They play a mixture of disco classics and modern house songs.
