Robert S. Carlson
Robert Stewart Carlson (August 6, 1913 – December 9, 2000)''Minnesota, U.S., Death Index, 1908–2017'' was an American college football and college baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Augsburg College from 1940 to 1941 and again in 1946 and at the Municipal University of Wichita—now Wichita State University—from 1951 to 1952, compiling a career college football head coaching record of 8–30–1. Carlson played football at the University of Minnesota as an End (gridiron football), end in 1935 and 1936, on teams coached by Bernie Bierman. In 1937, he coached the "B" football team at Minnesota. After graduating from University of Minnesota, Carlson was hired, in 1938, as coach at Glennwood High School in Glenwood, Minnesota, where he also taught physical education. In 1940, he was hired by Augsburg College as head football coach and assistant coach in basketball, and baseball. Carlson died on December 9, 2000. Head coaching record Football ... Alexandria, Minnesota
Alexandria is a city in and the county seat of Douglas County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 14,335 as of the 2020 census. I-94 passes through Alexandria, along with Minnesota State Highways 27 and 29. It is south of Lake Carlos State Park. History First settled in 1858, it was named after brothers Alexander and William Kinkead from Maryland. The form of the name alludes to Alexandria, Egypt, a center of learning and civilization. The village of Alexandria was incorporated February 20, 1877. Its city charter was adopted in 1908, and it was incorporated as a city in 1909. W. E. Hicks was pivotal to the town's early development. He purchased the townsite in 1868 and established a mill, hotel, newspaper, and store. He donated property for a courthouse, jail, and two churches: Methodist and Congregational.
