Robert Reynolds (born May 20, 1981) is an American former professional football linebacker of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Tennessee Titans in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL draft. He played college football at Ohio State. College career Reynolds is known for an incident in college referred to as the Reynolds–Sorgi incident, where Reynolds intentionally choked Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Jim Sorgi, injuring Sorgi's trachea, after the play had been whistled dead. On October 28, 2011, Reynolds made a public apology for the incident, citing his wife and four children as the reason he wanted to clear his reputation and be accountable for his actions. Reynolds also stated that he and Sorgi had made amends years prior to the interview. Sir Robert Reynolds (c. 1601–1678) was an English lawyer and Member of Parliament (MP) Long Parliament who took the parliamentary side on the outbreak of the Civil War. He served as Solicitor General and Attorney General during the First Commonwealth and supported the restoration of the Monarchy during the Second. Biography Robert was son of Sir James Reynolds of Castle Camps in Cambridgeshire (knighted 28 April 1618), and brother of Sir John Reynolds (d. 1657), represented Hindon, Wiltshire, in the Long parliament, and took the parliamentary side from the beginning of the civil war. Robert is described in his marriage licence in 1634 as a member of the Inner Temple, but his name does not appear in the list of admissions to that body. Rear-Admiral Robert Carthew Reynolds (''bap.'' 30 July 1745 – 24 December 1811) was a long serving and widely respected officer of the British Royal Navy who served in four separate major wars in a 52-year career. During this time he saw only one major battle, although was engaged in one of the most noted frigate actions of the French Revolutionary Wars, the destruction of the ''Droits de l'Homme'', in which his own frigate was driven ashore and wrecked. Reynolds died in 1811 during a great storm in late December, which scattered his convoy and wrecked three ships of the line including his own flagship HMS ''St George''. Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15, 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America. This is based on evidence published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV. He was named head men's tennis coach at Auburn University in June 2016. Bobby Reynolds (June 27, 1931 – August 19, 1985) was an American football player known among University of Nebraska Cornhuskers fans as "Mr. Touchdown". He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1984. Playing career Reynolds attended Grand Island High where he played both basketball and football, winning state team titles in 1947 and 1948 in both sports. He attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln where he became a First-Team All-American in 1950. A shoulder separation, broken leg, and lime-in-the-eye infection slowed him down the following two seasons. However, Reynolds still set then career records for scoring and rushing.
