Robert Page (Virginia Politician)
Robert Page (February 4, 1765December 8, 1840) was a United States representative from Virginia. Born at North End, Gloucester County (now Mathews County) in the Colony of Virginia, he received a liberal education from tutors at home. He attended the College of William and Mary, which he left to join the War of Independence, serving as a captain in the Virginia militia. He studied law, was admitted to the bar and practiced in Frederick County (now Clarke County) and adjacent counties. He was a planter and a member of the council of state, and was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates in 1795. Robert John Page (born 3 September 1974) is a Welsh Manager (association football), football manager and former association football, player who was most recently the manager of the Wales national football team, Wales national team. In an 18-year career in the Premier League and the English Football League, he made 550 competitive appearances for six different clubs. He captained a team and scored a goal in each of the top four divisions of English football. Robert Edward Page ( 14 September 1936 – 14 April 1991) was a New Zealand rowing cox. At the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he won the silver medal as part of the men's eight alongside crew members Leslie Arthur, Darien Boswell, Colin Cordes, Alistair Dryden, Alan Grey, Christian Larsen, Louis Lobel and Alan Webster. After having received an invitation to the Henley Royal Regatta, he won the inaugural Prince Philip Challenge Cup regatta in 1963 in Henley-on-Thames. That year, the Henley regatta was regarded as the event that came closest to a world championship. Darien Boswell, Peter Masfen, Dudley Storey, and Alistair Dryden made up the rowers, and Page was the cox. The same coxed four team then went to the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where they placed eighth. At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico he was part of the men's eight that came fourth in the final. Robert Morris Page (2 June 1903 – 15 May 1992) was an American physicist who was a leading figure in the development of radar technology. Later, Page served as the director of research for the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Life and career Page was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the son of a Methodist minister. He attended Hamline University, a small Methodist-supported school in St. Paul. Originally intending to become a minister, he changed his studies to physics and in 1927 received his B.S. degree in this field. Page immediately joined the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, D.C. as a junior physicist. Somewhat later he started part-time studies at George Washington University, eventually earning a M.S. degree. Robert Charles Page, DSO (21 July 1920 – 7 July 1945) was an Australian soldier who was a member of Z Special Unit during the Second World War. He took part in Operation Jaywick and Operation Rimau, in which he was captured and executed by the Japanese.
