Robert Neller
Robert Blake Neller (born February 9, 1953) is a retired United States Marine Corps General (United States), four-star general who served as the 37th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, Commandant of the Marine Corps from 2015 to 2019. Neller was born in Louisiana and was raised in Michigan. He was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from the University of Virginia in 1975 and served as an infantry officer. During his career he was deployed to Panama, Somalia and Iraq. As a general officer he served as the commanding general of the 3rd Marine Division, the Director of Operations on the Joint Staff, the commander of United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command, Marine Corps Forces Central Command, and commander of United States Marine Corps Forces Command, Marine Corps Forces Command as well as commanding general of Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic. Fort Polk
Fort Polk, formerly Fort Johnson, is a United States Army installation located in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, about 10 miles (15 km) east of Leesville and 30 miles (50 km) north of DeRidder in Beauregard Parish. Named after New York soldier William Henry Johnson, the post encompasses about . Some are owned by the Department of the Army and by the U.S. Forest Service, mostly in the Kisatchie National Forest. Defense Meritorious Service Medal
The Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM) is an award bestowed upon members of the United States military by the United States Department of Defense. In the order of precedence of the United States Armed Forces, it is worn between the Purple Heart and the Meritorious Service Medal. The medal is awarded in the name of the Secretary of Defense to members of the Armed Forces who, while serving in a joint activity, distinguish themselves by meritorious service, but not of a degree to warrant award of the Defense Superior Service Medal. The medal is not the same as the Meritorious Service Medal, which is a separate federal military decoration. Officer Candidates School (United States Marine Corps)
The United States Marine Corps Officer Candidates School (OCS) is a training regiment designed to screen and evaluate potential Marine Corps Officers. Those who successfully complete the period of instruction are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the United States Marines. Unlike the other United States military services, the majority of Marine Corps officers complete OCS to earn a commission; the exceptions are midshipmen from the United States Naval Academy, limited duty officers and warrant officers, and inter-service transfers. East Lansing High School
East Lansing High School is a public high school in the city of East Lansing, Michigan, United States. It is managed by the East Lansing Public Schools district. The school is located about a mile north of the Michigan State University campus. Construction started in 1956, with the school opening in September 1959.
