Robert Morris-Nunn
Robert William Morris-Nunn (born 23 September 1949) is an Australian architect. He has practised in Tasmania for over 30 years, during which time he has won over 50 state and national awards. Early life and practice Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Morris-Nunn studied architecture at the University of Sydney. His name until at least his twenties was Robert Arthur Nunn. The importation of "William Morris" and the dropping of his father's given name, Arthur must have occurred after he reached his twenties. From 1979 to 1984 he was principal designer for Glenn Smith Associates in Launceston. During this time he explored Tasmania's heritage buildings, including Australia's richest collection of Georgian buildings. He has been involved in many heritage projects since, often in collaboration with artists and craftspeople. The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Forestry Building, Hobart
The Forestry building is a heritage-listed complex situated at 79–93 Melville Street, Hobart, Tasmania. It is made up of the former Crisp & Gunn offices and workshop, and Forestry Tasmania dome. The complex is located in the central business district of Hobart. The building complex extends along the north side of Melville Street, between Elizabeth and Murray Streets. History Crisp and Gunn Co-Operative Ltd. was the amalgamation of two prosperous family timber firms in Tasmania. The Crisp side was established in 1848 in Hobart. By 1897, the Crisp family business was managed by Messrs Ernest and Samuel Crisp. In 1902, Ernest Crisp joined with Frederick Crisp to manage the company in Melville Street. The Gunn family in Launceston commenced business as timber merchants in 1875. In 1907 John and Thomas Gunn came to Hobart. The Brooke Street Pier is a floating pontoon building at Sullivans Cove in the waterfront area of the city of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It was constructed in 2014–15 at a cost of . It weighs and was Australia's largest floating building upon completion. It is connected to the Hobart shore at Franklin Wharf, near the base of Brooke Street. The Australian honours and awards system refers to all orders, decorations, and medals, as instituted by letters patent from the Monarch of Australia and countersigned by the Australian prime minister at the time, that have been progressively introduced since 14 February 1975.
