Robert C. Mason (born March 20, 1942) is a Vietnam War veteran and author of several books, including his first, best-selling memoir: '' Chickenhawk'' (1983). Mason piloted Huey "Slicks" in the United States Army as a Warrant Officer 1. He sailed to Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) and served a one-year tour, nine months with the "First Cav", the last three months with the 48th Aviation Company. Mason spent his first month in Vietnam clearing land for his unit's airbase, after which he and his fellow pilots flew many missions to resupply the infantry and pick up wounded. At that time 1st Cavalry Medevac helicopters were not allowed to fly if the landing zone was hot. While serving with the 1st Cavalry, Mason was involved in several battles and other missions, including the Battle of Ia Drang and the Battle of Bong Son. Bobby Joe Mason (April 23, 1936 – July 4, 2006) was an American basketball player. He was an All-American college player at Bradley University and gained worldwide fame as a member of the Harlem Globetrotters. Career Mason was a three-sport star at Centralia High School in Centralia, Illinois. He came to Bradley and, after losing nearly a season to academic eligibility issues, became a prominent player and a part of two National Invitation Tournament championships with the Braves. In 1958, he was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference, and was named to the first-team in 1959. Following the season, he was drafted by the National Basketball Association's Minneapolis Lakers, but chose to return to Bradley to use the rest of his eligibility. Robert Henry Mason (born 22 March 1936) is an English former professional footballer, who played in the Football League for Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he spent the majority of his league career, and for Leyton Orient. Career Mason was signed up by his local club Wolverhampton Wanderers as a youngster and turned professional in 1954. He spent time in the reserves and youth ranks - playing in the 1954 FA Youth Cup Final - before he finally made his league debut on 5 November 1955 in a 1–5 defeat at Luton Town. He made only a handful of appearances until the departure of Dennis Wilshaw in December 1957 opened the door for him. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for the ridings of Victoria East and Victoria North between a 1909 by-election and the 1919 Ontario general election.
