Robert Mark Kamen
Robert Mark Kamen (born October 9, 1947) is an American screenwriter, best known as the creator of ''The Karate Kid'' franchise as well as for his later collaborations with French filmmaker Luc Besson, which include the screenplay for ''The Fifth Element'' (originally devised by Besson) and the '' Transporter'' and '' Taken'' franchises. He now produces wine from his vineyards near Sonoma, California. Early life and education Kamen was born in 1947. He grew up in the Bronx in New York City. He graduated from New York University in 1969. He received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Career Kamen is a frequent collaborator of French writer and director Luc Besson, who co-created ''The Fifth Element'', ''The Transporter'', and the ''Taken'' series. The 1964 New York World's Fair (also known as the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair) was an world's fair, international exposition at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City, United States. The fair included exhibitions, activities, performances, films, art, and food presented by 80 nations, 24 U.S. states, and nearly 350 American companies. Phil Coturri
Phil Coturri is an American viticulturalist. As a vineyard manager, Coturri has been recognized as pioneering organic and biodynamic farming in California. He is the chief executive officer of Enterprise Vineyard Management and co-owner of Winery Sixteen 600. Early life Phil Coturri grew up in San Francisco, California. His family also had a weekend home in Glen Ellen, California. An Italian-American, Coturri's grandfather was from Lucca, Italy. Coturri made wine with his grandfather as a young man. The Mayacamas Mountains are located in northwestern California in the United States. The mountain range is part of the Northern Inner Coast Ranges, of the California Coast Ranges System. Moon Mountain District Sonoma County is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) within Sonoma Valley and North Coast viticultural areas, just north of the city of Sonoma. This mountainous region on the very eastern edge of Sonoma County has a historic reputation for producing rich, intensely-flavored wines from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah varietals since the 1880s. Karate Kid (Val Armorr) is a superhero appearing in the DC Comics universe, primarily as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Jerome Charles Weintraub (September 26, 1937 – July 6, 2015) was an American film producer, talent manager and actor whose television films won him three Emmys. He began his career as a talent agent, having managed known singer John Denver in 1970, developing Denver's success through concerts, television specials, and film roles, including ''Oh, God! (film), Oh, God!'' (1977). Weintraub has been credited with making "show business history" by being the first to organize and manage large arena concert tours for singers. Frank Price
Frank Price (born May 17, 1930) is an American retired television writer and film studio executive. He held a number of executive positions including head of Universal TV; president, and later chairman and CEO, of Columbia Pictures; and president of Universal Pictures. In the 1960s, he is credited with helping to develop the " made-for-TV movie" and the 90-minute miniseries television format, including '' The Virginian'' (1962–1970). Chōjun Miyagi
was an Okinawan martial artist who founded the Gōjū-ryū school of karate by blending Okinawan and Chinese influences. Life Early life and training Sensei Miyagi was born in Higashimachi, Naha, Okinawa on April 25, 1888. One of his parents was a wealthy shop owner. Chojun Miyagi began studying Okinawan martial arts under Ryuko Aragaki at age 11. At age 14, Miyagi was introduced to Kanryo Higashionna (Higaonna Kanryō) by Aragaki.
