Robert Francis Green
Robert Francis Green (November 14, 1861 – October 5, 1946) was a Canadian businessman and Conservative politician, born in Peterborough, Canada West. From 1893 to 1897, Green served three terms as mayor of Kaslo, British Columbia. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1898 to 1907, representing the ridings of first West Kootenay-Slocan then Kaslo. After the 1903 BC elections, Green was part of the government of Richard McBride, and was appointed Minister of Mines, Education, and Lands and Works, and Provincial Secretary. He was elected MP for Kootenay in 1912 and re-elected in the successor riding Kootenay West Kootenay West was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 1988. Richard McBride
Sir Richard McBride, (December 15, 1870 – August 6, 1917) was a British Columbia politician and is often considered the founder of the British Columbia Conservative Party. McBride was first elected to the provincial legislature in the 1898 election and served in the cabinet of James Dunsmuir from 1900 to 1901. McBride believed that the province's system of non-party government was unstable and hindered development. After the lieutenant-governor appointed him the 16th premier in June 1903 and McBride announced that his government was a Conservative Party administration and would contest the upcoming election along party lines. On October 3, 1903, McBride's party, the British Columbia Conservative Party won the first provincial election to be fought along party lines with a two-seat majority. Levi (; ) was, according to the Book of Genesis, the third of the six sons of Jacob and Leah (Jacob's third son), and the founder of the Israelite Tribe of Levi (the Levites, including the Kohanim) and the great-grandfather of Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Kootenay East (also known as Kootenay East—Revelstoke) was a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 1968 and from 1979 to 1997. This riding was created as "Kootenay East" in 1914 from parts of Kootenay riding. It was abolished in 1966 when it was redistributed into Kootenay West and Okanagan—Kootenay ridings. It initially consisted of the provincial electoral districts of Cranbrook, Fernie and Columbia. Its boundaries were adjusted in 1924, 1933, and 1947.
