Robert Dupuis
Major-General Robert Dupuis CMM, CStJ, CD, QHP, CSPQ, FRCPC (21 November 1928 – 28 January 2019) was the 28th Canadian Surgeon General. Biography Born in Drummondville, Quebec, Robert was educated at Université Laval in Quebec City, where he graduated with a Medical Degree in 1951. He also completed post-graduate studies in 1961, 1964 and 1965 at the Montréal Military Hospital (Queen Mary's Hospital) and the Notre-Dame Hospital (both in Montreal, Quebec).Telephone Interview with Major-General Dupuis 21 May 2015. Dupuis joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC) in 1956 and was posted to 3rd Battalion, the Canadian Guards, and was sent to Germany in 1957. The Order of Military Merit (french: Ordre du mérite militaire) is a military honour for merit that is, within the Canadian system of honours, the second highest order administered by the governor in Council, on behalf of the Canadian monarch. Created in 1972 to replace a grouping within the Order of Canada, the order was established to recognize members of the Canadian Forces—either regular or reserve personnel—who have demonstrated dedication and devotion beyond the call of duty, achieving conspicuous merit and exceptional military service. National Defence Medical Centre
The National Defence Medical Centre (NDMC) was the national and largest hospital of the Canadian Forces in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It served the needs of the members of the military. Constructed in 1961, it was closed in the 1990s due to budget cutbacks in National Defence and Veterans' Affairs Canada. The building now houses Canadian Forces Health Services Group Headquarters, the CF Health Services Centre Ottawa, the 33 Canadian Brigade Group headquarters, and other military units. All in-patient and surgical services for the Canadian Forces in the Ottawa region are done at the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital where they have a 4-bed unit, and their own Operating Theater. Kingston, Ontario
Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north-eastern end of Lake Ontario, at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River (south end of the Rideau Canal).
