Robert Dale (explorer)
Lieutenant Robert Dale (181020 July 1853) was the first European ethnic groups, European explorer to cross the Darling Range in Western Australia. Robert Dale was born in Winchester, England in November 1810, son of Major Thurston Dale and Helen Matthews. Through the influence of his great-uncle General William Dyott, on 25 October 1827, he was appointed an ensign (rank), ensign in the British Army's 63rd (The West Suffolk) Regiment of Foot, 63rd Regiment of Foot. In February 1829 Dale embarked for the Swan River Colony on as part of a detachment of troops commanded by Captain Frederick Chidley Irwin, arriving 6 June 1829. On arrival at the colony, he was seconded as an assistant to Surveyor General of Western Australia, Surveyor General John Septimus Roe, whose Survey Department was suffering under an extreme workload. Robert Alexander Dale (19 August 1875 – 22 February 1953) was an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Sturt from 1930 to 1933 and Adelaide from 1933 to 1938 and 1944 to 1947 for the Labor Party. He worked from a very early age as a sheep shearer at "Andamoka" and "practically every station in the State", when he was known as one of the best blade shearers and a member of the Shearers' Union (later AWU). He later worked underground in the Broken Hill mines, then at the smelters. Robert William Dale (1 December 1829 – 13 March 1895) was an English Congregational church leader based in Birmingham. Life Dale was born in London and educated at Spring Hill College, Birmingham, for the Congregational ministry. In 1853 he was invited to Carr's Lane Chapel, Birmingham, as co-pastor with John Angell James, on whose death in 1859 he became sole pastor for the rest of his life. In the University of London M.A. examination (1853), he came first in philosophy and won the gold medal. The degree of LL.D. was conferred upon him in 1883 by the University of Glasgow during the lord rectorship of John Bright. Yale University gave him its D.D. degree, although he never used it. He served as Chairman of the Congregational Union of England and Wales in 1868 and President of the International Congregational Council in 1891.Dale et al., 1899. Robbie Robinson (21 April 1940 – 31 August 2021), better known by the name Robbie Dale and nicknamed The Admiral, was a British radio disc jockey who was the chief DJ of Radio Caroline during the 1960s. Pirate radio Dale was born in Littleborough, Lancashire, England, in April 1940. He was chief DJ on the offshore pirate radio ship Radio Caroline. Dale was one of the DJs on Radio Caroline on 14 August 1967 with Johnnie Walker, when the Marine Broadcasting Offences Act 1967 came into effect. At its peak, the station had 23 million listeners. After the closedown of Radio Caroline he worked for the Dutch pirate radio ship Radio Veronica from May 1968 to August 1969, and then worked on the Dutch broadcaster TROS, where he did a regular radio show on Hilversum 3 on Thursday afternoons.
