Robert Anae
Robert Anae (born December 21, 1958) is an American college football coach and former player. Most recently, he was the offensive coordinator (OC) for NC State, a position he held from December 2022 until being released in December 2024. Prior to NC State, he was the OC at the University of Virginia and Brigham Young University (BYU), his alma mater, each under head coach Bronco Mendenhall, and as the OC at Syracuse under head coach Dino Babers. Career Early life and playing career Anae is of Samoan descent and grew up in Laie, Hawaii before graduating from Kahuku High School. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1978 to 1980. He attended BYU and played football for the Cougars, switching from center to offensive guard. Hula Bowl
The Hula Bowl is a post-season college football all-star game held annually, usually in January. From inception through the 2021 playing, it was held in Hawaii; since the 2022 edition, it has been played in Orlando, Florida. The game was first staged in 1947, between Contiguous United States, mainland collegiate players and local Hawaiian players; it has been played exclusively with collegiate players since 1960. The bowl was paused following its 2008 edition, then was revived in January 2020. The game was originally held at Honolulu Stadium in Honolulu, then moved to Aloha Stadium in Halawa, Hawaii, Halawa starting with the January 1976 edition. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington. The Holiday Bowl is an annual college football bowl game held in San Diego, California. Operating since 1978, its current conference tie-ins are with the Pac-12 Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The bowl is held at Snapdragon Stadium; it was played at San Diego Stadium from 1978 to 2019, and at Petco Park from 2021 to 2023. 1984 BYU Cougars Football Team
The 1984 BYU Cougars football team represented Brigham Young University (BYU) in the 1984 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Cougars were led by 13th-year head coach LaVell Edwards and played their home games at Cougar Stadium in Provo, Utah. The team competed as a member of the Western Athletic Conference, winning the conference for the ninth consecutive year. The Cougars finished the regular season as the only undefeated team in Division I-A, and secured their first ever national title by defeating Michigan in the 1984 Holiday Bowl. Kahuku High & Intermediate School
Kahuku High & Intermediate School, located in Kahuku CDP, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, on the island of Oahu, serves approximately 1,850 students in grades seven through twelve and is part of the Windward District on the island of Oahu.
