They have had five No. 1 singles on the UK Indie Chart and several Top 40 singles. Their debut album, ''So This Is Great Britain?'', was awarded an 8 out of 10 by ''NME''. History Formation David Jackson and Bryn Fowler established the band, meeting Rob Skipper at the music venue Nambucca on Holloway Road in North London. Jackson, Fowler, and Skipper jammed together, playing in a room above the venue belonging to Dave Danger. During the session, Jackson, Fowler, and Skipper completed six songs. It was at this point that Dave Danger joined the band. CSS (band)
CSS (an initialism of Cansei de Ser Sexy) (, English lit. "[Got] tired of being sexy") is a Brazilian rock music, rock band from São Paulo. The band was labelled as part of the explosion of the New Rave music, new rave scene of the late 2000s. CSS releases songs in both Portuguese and English, something which allowed them to develop a significant audience in the anglosphere in their formative years. In 2011 founding member Adriano Cintra left the band, which indirectly led to CSS becoming inactive between 2013 and 2019. The band reformed without Cintra in 2019, at first planning to simply play one gig in São Paulo, but its success drove the members to return full-time. "Dancefloor" is the third single from the North London indie group The Holloways. It was released on 26 March 2007 on TVT Records and debuted at #41 in the UK charts. The B-side to the single, " Up the Junction", is a cover of Squeeze's 1979 song. The song was included on The Holloways' 2006 debut album ''So This is Great Britain?''. Reception Norman Records' review stated that the song was a "pretty bland commercial indie pop that does little in the way of entertaining." The Subways is an English rock music, rock band from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.
