Rob Miyashiro
Robert Seiko Miyashiro is a Canadian politician who was elected Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Lethbridge-West in 2024. A member of the Alberta New Democratic Party. He previously served as a member of the Lethbridge City Council from 2013 to 2021. Miyashiro was a candidate for the Alberta NDP in the 2023 Alberta provincial election in the neighbouring riding of Lethbridge-East, where he lost to incumbent cabinet minister Nathan Neudorf by 636 votes. He also ran as a candidate for the Alberta Liberal Party in the 2012 Alberta general election in Lethbridge-East, coming in third place. Prior to entering politics, Miyashiro worked in the human services sector for over 40 years, and was most recently the executive director of the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization. Lethbridge-East is a Provinces and territories of Canada, provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Alberta, Canada, covering the eastern half of the city of Lethbridge. The district is one of 87 in the province mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. Taber, Alberta
Taber ( ) is a town in southern Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by the Municipal District of Taber. It is approximately east of the City of Lethbridge at the intersection of Alberta Highway 3, Highway 3 and Alberta Highway 36, Highway 36. Taber is famous for its maize, corn due to the large amounts of sunlight, sunshine the area receives. It is therefore known as the ''Corn Capital of Canada'' and holds an annual "#Cornfest, Cornfest" in the last week of August. History Originally, Taber was known as "Tank No. 77," and was used by the railway to fill up on water. Nathan Neudorf is a Canadian politician who has been Alberta's minister of affordability and utilities since 2023. He was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Lethbridge-East in the 30th Alberta Legislature.
