Rob Mercuri
Rob Mercuri (born c. 1982) is an American politician. He has served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since 2021, representing District 28. Early life and career Mercuri was raised in West Deer Township, and attended Deer Lake High School, graduating in 2000. He subsequently graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004 and was deployed to Iraq. Upon completing his military service, Mercuri enrolled in night classes offered by the University of Massachusetts Amherst and worked for two accounting firms in New York City. He returned to Pennsylvania when hired by PNC Financial Services. With his wife Kelsey, Mercuri owns a small business located in Wexford. Political career After incumbent representative Mike Turzai of House District 28 announced that he was not running for reelection in 2020, Mercuri won a Republican Party primary against Michael Heckmann and Libby Blackburn, with Turzai's endorsement. Wexford is an unincorporated community in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The area known as Wexford is split among multiple municipalities, including Franklin Park, McCandless Township, Pine Township, and Marshall Township. It is named after County Wexford in Ireland. Emily Skopov (born 1966) is an American screenwriter and politician. Personal life Skopov was born in 1966 in New York, and is of Jewish descent. She was raised in Rockland County. Skopov earned an undergraduate degree in English literature from Columbia University, and planned to become an English professor or lawyer. She committed to writing only after attending the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. In 2010, Skopov moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from El Segundo, California, then settled in Marshall Township with her husband Todd Normane and two children. Skopov is the founder of the non-profit organization No Crayon Left Behind. The organization was established in 2011, soon after Skopov began collecting discarded crayons from restaurants and distributing them to places where they would be used, such as homeless shelters, daycares, and preschools. Michael Coyne Turzai (born August 2, 1959) is an American politician and former Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives who served as Speaker of the House. He is from Allegheny County and represented the 28th legislative district since 2001. His district included the municipalities of Pine Township, Marshall Township, Bradford Woods, Franklin Park, and McCandless. Turzai served as the House Majority Leader from 2011 until 2014, and was elected Speaker in January 2015.
