Rob Blanchflower
Robert J. Blanchflower (born June 8, 1990) is a former American football tight end. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft. He played college football at Massachusetts. Early life In high school, Blanchflower was on the football and basketball team and was teammates with former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Richard Rodgers II. He also played with former Denver Broncos practice squad tight end, Dan Light, at St. John's, for the football team. Professional career Blanchflower was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 230th pick in the 2014 NFL draft. On August 30, 2014, Blanchflower was among the final cuts for the Steelers. The next day, he was added to their practice squad. On January 5, 2015, the Steelers signed Blanchflower to a reserve/future contract. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense (sports), offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). Richard Christopher Rodgers II (born January 22, 1992) is an American football tight end who is a free agent. He played college football at California and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Football Team and Arizona Cardinals. Early life Rodgers was born in California, growing up there and Oregon and New Mexico before moving to Worcester, Massachusetts in 2004. He attended St. John's High School in Shrewsbury.
