The Road–Railway Bridge () or Boško Perošević Bridge () was a bridge on the Danube river in Novi Sad, Serbia. Name On the proposal of Slobodan Milošević, at the time President of Serbia and Montenegro, President of Yugoslavia, the bridge was named after assassinated Serbian politician and the President of the Government of Vojvodina, Chairman of the Executive Council of Vojvodina Boško Perošević. Location The bridge was constructed next to the location of the old Žeželj Bridge, at the end of Venizelosova street from the side of Novi Sad, connecting to Reljkovićeva street at Petrovaradin. History On 29 May 2000, one year after the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia and demolition of all three large bridges over Danube in Novi Sad, the Road–Railway Bridge was opened upstream from the Žeželj Bridge. Boško Perošević
Boško Perošević ( sr-Cyrl, Бошко Перошевић; 17 September 1956 – 13 May 2000) was a Serbian politician and former Chairman of the Executive Council of Vojvodina. He was assassinated in 2000. Biography Perošević was born in Odžaci and grew up in the near-by village of Ratkovo. He completed elementary and secondary school in Ratkovo and Odžaci, then Higher School of machine engineering and Economical Faculty in Subotica and received his master's degree at the Technological Faculty in Novi Sad. He visited the Soviet Union as a student and in addition to Serbian, he spoke Russian and English. In the specialized magazines he released several professional papers, while as a designer of tools and devices he patented several innovations. He published a study ''Kalupi za injekciono presovanje plastomera'' and together with three co-authors was published a book ''Promenama do uspešnog preduzeća''. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) carried out an aerial bombing campaign against the Serbia and Montenegro, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War. The air strikes lasted from 24 March 1999 to 10 June 1999. Slobodan Milošević ( sr-Cyrl, Слободан Милошевић, ; 20 August 1941 – 11 March 2006) was a Yugoslav and Serbian politician who was the President of Serbia between 1989 and 1997 and President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1997 until Overthrow of Slobodan Milošević, his оverthrow in 2000.
