Louis King
Louis King (June 28, 1898 – September 7, 1962) was an American actor and film director of westerns and adventure movies in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Early years King was born in 1898 in Christiansburg, Virginia. His name was also written as L.H. King and Lewis King. A brother of director Henry King (director), Henry King, he grew up on a tobacco farm. Their parents died in 1918, after which he moved to California, where his brother was already working in films. Career King first worked for his brother, who was acting and directing for the Balboa Film Company. Then he became a "general handy man" for American Film Company. He entered the film business in 1919 as a character actor. He specialized in villains and blusterers. Charles Middleton (actor)
Charles Brown Middleton (October 3, 1874 – April 22, 1949) was an American stage and film actor. During a film career that began at age 46 and lasted almost 30 years, he appeared in nearly 200 films as well as numerous plays. Sometimes credited as Charles B. Middleton, he is perhaps best remembered for his role as the villainous emperor Ming the Merciless in the three ''Flash Gordon'' serials made between 1936 and 1940. Career Born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Middleton worked in a traveling circus and in vaudeville, and acted on stage before he turned to motion pictures in 1920. Middleton's success as a character actor, however, did not become firmly established until the sound era in films, when he became known for his resounding, stentorian speaking voice. George Harrington Lloyd (November 5, 1892 – August 15, 1967) was an American vaudevillian and character actor. Born in Edinburg, Illinois, Lloyd appeared in over 270 films between 1932 and 1956. Career In the late 1920s, Lloyd had his own vaudeville troupe. Lloyd appeared in the Three Stooges short subject '' Pardon My Clutch'' (1948) as the angry gas station attendant. He was also Squid McGuffy, café owner, in '' Crime on Their Hands'' (1948) and its remake, '' Hot Ice'' (1955). Other appearances include ''Mississippi'' (1935), ''The Return of Jimmy Valentine'' (1936), '' High Sierra'' (1941), '' Topper Returns'' (1941) and '' My Favorite Brunette'' (1947).
