River Line (Atlanta)
The River Line was the last Atlanta streetcar line and ran from 1892 to 1949. The line ran from Downtown Atlanta via Marietta Street, over the Jones Avenue bridge to the English Avenue neighborhood, through which they proceeded on two routes: * one via Simpson (now Joseph E. Boone) and Ashby (now Joseph E. Lowry) to Bellwood Ave. (later Bankhead Highway, now Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy.) * the other via Kennedy (now Cameron M. River Line (Conrail)
The River Line was a Conrail rail line located between Jersey City, New Jersey and Selkirk, New York, running along the west side of the Hudson Palisades and, after passing through a tunnel at Haverstraw, New York, along the west bank of the Hudson River. It was previously the New York Central's West Shore Railroad and Weehawken Branch. The River Line has since been split into several sections, following the 1999 division of Conrail assets between Norfolk Southern Railway and CSX Transportation. The majority of the line is now the CSX River Subdivision, which runs from Control Point 2 (CP2) at the North Bergen Yard in North Bergen, New Jersey to Selkirk. The portion south of CP2, including the Weehawken Tunnel, is now part of NJ Transit's Hudson–Bergen Light Rail. Freight trains continuing south of CP2 now use the Northern Running Track, a portion of a former Erie Railroad line that has been upgraded to handle the traffic. River Line (NJ Transit)
The River Line (stylized as River LINE) is a hybrid rail (light rail with some features similar to commuter rail) line in southern New Jersey that connects the cities of Camden and Trenton, New Jersey's capital. It is so named because its route between the two cities is parallel to the Delaware River. The River Line stops at the PATCO Speedline's Broadway station (Walter Rand Transportation Center) and the NJ Transit Atlantic City Line's Pennsauken Transit Center, providing connections to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Its northern terminus is adjacent to the Trenton Transit Center. The line is operated for New Jersey Transit by the Southern New Jersey Rail Group (SNJRG), which originally included Bechtel Group and Bombardier. Riverline (Hobart)
Riverline, also known as the Northern Suburbs Railway, is a proposed AU$100 million light rail system that would traverse the southernmost section of the South Railway Line, through the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania. The proposed line was first mentioned in 2007 when the then Premier of Tasmania Paul Lennon, announced that a new dedicated transport hub would be constructed on Hobart's northern fringe. The completion of this transport hub in 2014 left the southernmost section of the railway line vacant. While the intermodal operations were moved to Brighton, the intention is to maintain a working port for Hobart and therefore the new arrangement will need to accommodate for the occasional freight train. A stream bed or streambed is the bottom of a stream or river (bathymetry) or the physical confine of the normal water flow (channel). The lateral confines or channel margins are known as the stream banks or river banks, during all but flood stage. Under certain conditions a river can branch from one stream bed to multiple stream beds. A flood occurs when a stream overflows its banks and flows onto its flood plain. As a general rule, the bed is the part of the channel up to the normal water line, and the banks are that part above the normal water line. However, because water flow varies, this differentiation is subject to local interpretation.
