Ritual De Lo Habitual
''Ritual de lo Habitual'' ( Spanish for "Ritual of the Usual") is the second studio album by the American rock band Jane's Addiction, released on August 21, 1990, by Warner Bros. Records. Co-produced by Dave Jerden, it was the band's final studio album before their initial break-up in 1991. The album includes some of Jane's Addiction's most famous songs, such as the singles " Been Caught Stealing" and " Stop!". The album proved to be a great commercial and critical success. The album broke into the top 20 on the Billboard 200, sold 500,000 units within a month of its release, and would go on to be certified 2× Platinum in the U.S. The album has received critical acclaim since its release, and is regarded as a classic of Alternative Rock, alongside its predecessor, '' Nothing's Shocking''. Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction was an American Rock music, rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1985. The band's best known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Perry Farrell, bassist Eric Avery, drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro. Jane's Addiction was one of the first bands from the early 1990s alternative rock movement to gain commercial success. Founded by Farrell and Avery following the disintegration of Farrell's previous band Psi Com, Jane's Addiction's first release was Jane's Addiction (album), their self-titled live album in 1987, which caught the attention of Warner Bros. Classic Girl
"Classic Girl" is a song by alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, released on their 1990 album, ''Ritual de lo Habitual''. It is the closing track of that album. The song's lyrics talk of a "classic girl" - a girl who is easily admired for her prototypical feminine beauty - and the time shared by the narrator and the girl. Composition The song is in the key of A Major and has a tempo of 113 BPM. For the majority of the song, a mellow, reminiscent mood is maintained, however at two points in the song the speed of the song increases, representing the jubilation in the relationship. Music video A music video was released for "Classic Girl", that featured clips from the film ''Gift'', directed by and starring frontman Perry Farrell and his then-girlfriend and muse, Casey Niccoli. Dave Navarro
David Michael Navarro (born June 7, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is best known as a member of the rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded four studio albums. Between 1993 and 1998, Navarro was the guitarist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, recording one studio album, ''One Hot Minute'' (1995), before departing. He has also released one solo album, ''Trust No One (Dave Navarro album), Trust No One'' (2001). Navarro has also been a member of Jane's Addiction-related bands Deconstruction (band), Deconstruction and the Panic Channel. ''Classic Rock'' is a British magazine and website dedicated to rock music, owned and published by Future. It was launched in October 1998 and is based in London. Eric Avery
Eric Adam Avery (born April 25, 1965) is an American musician. He is best known as the founding bass guitarist and co-songwriter of the alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, with whom he has recorded two studio albums. From 2005 to 2022, Avery was the bassist for Garbage, which he joined as sideman and with whom he recorded three studio albums. A core member of Jane's Addiction during its initial lifespan, Avery co-founded the band in 1985 with frontman Perry Farrell, and recorded two studio albums, '' Nothing's Shocking'' (1988) and '' Ritual de lo Habitual'' (1990), before the band's acrimonious break-up in 1991. Klezmer
Klezmer ( or ) is an instrumental musical tradition of the Ashkenazi Jews of Central and Eastern Europe. Progressive Rock
Progressive rock (shortened as prog rock or simply prog) is a broad genre of rock music that primarily developed in the United Kingdom through the mid- to late 1960s, peaking in the early-to-mid-1970s. Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States and elsewhere, the Ramones are often recognized as one of the first bands of the genre. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge subgenre in the United States, and the Britpop and shoegaze subgenres in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
