Ritman University is located in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Ritman University, RU is a privately owned and managed university in Nigeria. Ritman University offers various undergraduate courses/programs. The National Universities Commission, National University Commission (NUC) granted operational license to Ritman University on March 5, 2015, the university began academic activities on November 23, 2015. Ritman University was founded by Emmanuel Essien, Emmanuel Ibok Essien, a former Senator who represented the North West Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State at the 4th Nigerian National Assembly (Senate) between (1999-2003). Ikot Ekpene
Ikot Ekpene, also known as The Raffia City, is a historic town in the south-southern state of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. It is the political and cultural capital of the Annang ethnic group in Nigeria (Nair, 1972). The town is located on the A342 highway that parallels the coast, between Calabar to the southeast and Aba to the west, with the state capital, Uyo, on this road just to the east. Umuahia is the next major town to the north. The population of the Ikot Ekpene Local government area was estimated to be 180,500 in 2022. National Universities Commission
The National Universities Commission (NUC) is a Nigerian government agency set up to regulate higher education in Nigeria. NUC, as it is popularly called, was established in 1962 as an advisory agency in the cabinet office. In 1974, it became a statutory body and its first executive secretary was professor Jibril Aminu. NUC is currently part of the Federal Ministry of Education and is a parastatal (government-owned corporation). Emmanuel Essien
Emmanuel Ibok Essien was elected Senator for the Akwa-Ibom North West District of Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform.
